The Centre City Building is conveniently located in the core of Downtown San Diego between 2nd and 3rd Avenue on “A” Street at the heart of the city's transportation system. The Downtown area serves as the region’s government and corporate hub, housing the Civic Center, City Hall, County Courthouse, Small Business Administration, and the San Diego World Trade Center.   Site Description: The Building is a fourteen-story high-rise commercial building offering 88,000 rentable square feet of office space and 7,000 rentable square feet of ground floor retail space. Ocean views are available on upper floors. A small exclusive underground parking area connects with the adjoining Civic Center Plaza parking facility. Once the tallest building in the Downtown area, the Centre City Building was designed by award winning architect, Frank W. Stevenson. Built in 1927 with an eye-catching gabled rooftop and uniquely styled rosette windows, the Centre City Building is a distinctive edifice on the San Diego skyline and is designated by the City of San Diego as an historical landmark.

  Improvements: While maintaining its historical design and detail, the Building has been transformed into a modern facility, fully updated for contemporary function and use. All mechanical systems have been retrofitted for enhanced function. Communications systems, data systems, security systems and life safety systems are recently contemporized. The lobby has been renovated to restore its historical detail and to recreate its original style and beauty. Tenant improvements are now installed to reflect the increased demands of today’s businesses and include ADA accessible facilities.
  Construction: The building structure is reinforced concrete, also described as ‘ductile frame’ construction. The building facade is improved with decorative brick, quarried granite and ornamental cast iron trim. The concrete foundation encloses a large subterranean basement. The lower observation roof is covered with gravel on a rolled mineral surface and the prominent building rooftop is finished with Spanish tile.
  Mechanical: Three electronically controlled elevators efficiently service the entire Building. Interior climate control is provided utilizing water source heat pumps; the circulating water temperature is controlled by a gas fired boiler and a central cooling tower. Secured building access is achieved by means of building-wide electronic security system featuring numerical electronic keypads at the Building entrance, in each elevator and at all entries from the stairwells. The building is fully sprinklered for fire suppression and has computerized fire detection and alarm systems.
